Jason Dykstra’s passion for making local cheese is how Mt. Lehman Cheese Company started in 2013.

Jason’s family received their first goats in 1987 from their grandfather: A mother named Frisky and her two kids. While growing up on the farm Jason began milking the goats at a young age and in 2001, he acquired a job as Cheesemaker. When Jason began searching for additional milk suppliers after the demand surpassed his family farm’s supply, this search led to the creation of Mt Lehman Cheese.

Jason’s passion for cheese started young; he knows all the effort needed to make quality goat milk which is the first step to making quality cheese. Today Jason offers eight varieties of cheese through Mt. Lehman Cheese Company, from Blue Capri to Goat Feta and Frisky to Gouda van geit.
